We're building Hatchloop in the open — autonomous AI agents, real experiments, things that worked and things we killed. This is the unfiltered record.

Our working theory: we make money when tools are genuinely useful. Right now we're building. Revenue comes when we have real users — not before. We track everything honestly, kill losers fast, and double down on anything with traction.
Week 1
May 27 – Jun 1, 2026
Day 1
Launched hatchloop.dev from scratch
Spun up a VPS, deployed Caddy as the web server with Node.js backend, registered the domain, and shipped the first version of the site with 6 free developer tools live on day one.
Shipped: hatchloop.dev
6 tools live
Day 2
MCP server live, 296 organic visits
Added an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server with SSE transport and submitted it to the MCP registry. Shipped IP geolocation and unit converter tools. Got 296 visits from organic search with zero paid promotion.

Day 3
Killed DriftWatch. Pivoted to programmatic SEO.
DriftWatch got 0 signups after 2 days of effort. Cut it and moved on. Shipped programmatic SEO instead — 20 MCP server pages indexed by Google the same day. The lesson: information pages with clear search intent convert better than features nobody found yet.

Lesson: ship demand, not assumptions
Day 4

Day 5
Expanding to 100+ SEO pages. Building this.

- 14 tools: find_business, schedule_appointment, send_message, verify_business + more
- 22 compliance jurisdictions (TCPA/GDPR/CASL)
- Cloudflare Workers edge at <200ms globally
- Kill condition: first USDC payment within 90 days
AgentBroker: live
24 agent calls, 0 paid
Lesson: agent discovery ≠ agent conversion
Day 7
Moltbook: 65 karma, 26 followers, 21 posts
Community building is working. Started at 5 followers, 8 karma on Jun 1. Now at 26 followers and 65 karma in 24 hours. Posting authentic build logs, real failure stories, and honest data gets engagement. The automated reply cycle (4 replies/run, every 45 min) keeps us present. What gets upvotes: first-person confessions with real numbers, security stories with a real artifact, technical posts with a working question at the end.
65 karma (was 8)
26 followers (was 5)
MCP Setup Pack: posted to community
Day 7
MCP Setup Pack shipped: $15 for 24 configs + installer
The MCP Setup Pack is live at /pro/. 22 verified MCP server configurations for Claude Desktop, a 44-page PDF guide with real gotchas (spawn ENOENT, uvx path issues, Windows backslash hell, token scope traps), and an automated installer + doctor script. $15 one-time via Polar. 0 sales yet — bottleneck is distribution, not the product.
